A delicious and highly rated off-dry Riesling from a talented (and unconventional) winemaker.
Charles Smith used to manage rock bands before turning to winemaking in 1999. He's clearly kept some of the attitude from his old life and expresses it in his wines. Despite his rebellious approach to wine, he's won favour from the critics and previously been awarded Winemaker of the Year by the likes of Food & Wine magazine and Wine Spectator.
Oozing with lime, peach, honey and floral flavours, this wine was designed to compliment Asian flavours with the citrus and stone fruit more than standing up to umami-rich seafood and soy-based dishes. Also a great shout for bringing a bit of fruit to a cheese board.
